Dam Pandemic

Is it Poetry Yet…

Covid

The Storm Sets In
The Power Steps Out

How many Times
Will I Walk into the Kitchen or the Bathroom
And Flip a Switch
Expecting to see a Bright Light?

How Many Times
Before I Realize
The Situation
I Am In

Requires Me to Let Go
Of a Way so Familiar to Me
So Familiar to US All

Storms do not Last for a Year

Times are Different Now

When I First Heard
“Times are Different Now”
From Old Timers
They were Talking about Decades Ago

Not Last Week

It is a Wild Planet
This Dam Pandemic

As the Herd Goes
Do I Go
The Way of Resistance
Or
The Way of Persistence?

Perhaps the Darkest Clouds
Have the Brightest Silver Linings

Have We
So Many
Been Pandemic Pacified?

Let That Not Mask our Resolve
Or the Smiles We Hide
To Be with Each Other

Closer
Again
Soon
